THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Self-Introduction

"Nice to meet you, I'm Akane Hino! I was born on August 4th and I'm 17 years old, my favorite food is tea!! …Eh? Tea's a drink? Oh, that's right!! Okay then, tea's my favorite drink!!!!! Please take good care of me!"

Character Description

Akane is the very definition of hot-blooded. Always energetic and eager to improve, she loves two things in particular: watching rugby matches and tea. She can be pretty silly with her over-the-top energy, but she's determined to reach her goal of becoming top idol, with as much effort as it's required. In her introduction she gets overexcited and exclaims her favorite food is tea. The Producer has to remind her tea is a drink and not food.

She is extremely loud, to the point that she causes feedback in her mic during the drama CD and is asked to tone it down a bit. She is hinted to be bad at explaining her feelings. In her R+ card's max affection line, she interprets her accelerated heartbeat when she's near the Producer as a cold.

  • Akane is voiced as of May 22nd, 2013 through THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER 016 Hino Akane.
  • Akane is possibly named after the Sun Rouge Hi no Akane tea product from the Tokunoshima Island of Kagoshima Prefecture, which may explain her mention of tea being her favorite "food".
  • In Starlight Stage, her image stats are relatively balanced, with a slight lead in Vocal.
  • Akane shares the same hometown with Mutsumi Ujiie.
  • Since the first Cinderella Girl Election had no concept of voicing idols (which was started in the second election instead), Akane is one of a few Top 5 idols in any Cinderella Girls Elections to have neither an election-based unit nor a unit song based on it.
    • This is also the only time Akane ranked anywhere in the Top 50 (or in the first election's case, Top 30).
  • She shares her given name and kanji with Akane Nonohara. Both are also depicted with a cat-like mouth.

Fan Culture

  • Similar to Ai Hidaka, Akane is often depicted taking a single, but large portion of rice, specifically with her actual favorite food, curry.
  • Akane is often shipped with Fumika Sagisawa, mostly due to their contrasting personalities and appearance.
    • According to Pixiv Encyclopedia, the shipping first surfaced during the 3rd Anniversary Idol Produce event, where Akane praised Fumika for her knowledge.
    • The ship would later resurface and was somewhat acknowledged following the release of Fumika's story commu in Starlight Stage. This also would later persist with the release of Kuusou Tansa Keikaku's event commu and various DerePost interactions, pushing the popularity of the ship even further.
    • On December 15, 2020, the anime Cinderella Girls Theater Extra Stage released its 31st episode, which features Fumika and Akane hanging out together in Jinbōchō, a place known for its large array of bookstores and curry restaurants. Various comments on image boards such as 2ch were filled with "ふみあか！！！！" in reaction to this episode.
    • The ship was also acknowledged by various voice actresses, such as Yuuko Iida, who in regards to them as a pair, commented that "their personalities are opposite, but they do not impose on each other, and they respect each other" during a DereRadi. On a different DereRadi, Chinatsu Akasaki also admitted that she sang and recorded Kuusou Tansa Keikaku while being reminded of Fumika.
  • Apart from Positive Passion (and many other units), Akane is also more commonly depicted with the unit Cheerful Bombers, which consists of her, Yuki Himekawa, and Tomoka Wakabayashi.
