Character Description

Ako is the Passion representative of the New Wave trio. Her motivation for becoming an idol is to strike it rich and live a life of luxury with her best friends, Sakura Muramatsu and Izumi Ohishi. The trio is very close and is almost never seen without the other members. Ako’s idol stage clothes always coordinate with Izumi and Sakura’s, and her cards are set up to work best with the other New Wave members. She wears glasses, has a beauty mark on her left cheek, and always has multicolored clips to keep her bangs in place.

Ako first met the Producer during her audition; which both Izumi and Sakura also attended. During it, she boldly exclaims how her main reason is becoming rich so she can live a life of luxury with her best friends. Izumi and Sakura are both accepted to be idols and join the production; Ako, however, is rejected. After the audition, she chases after the Producer. While he believes he's already heard her reason, she says that there is a deeper reason for why she wants to be idols with her friends, she just can't say it yet. She tells the Producer that while she may not have any special talents, that just means she'll work harder than anyone else, and after some convincing, she's accepted to be an idol alongside her best friends.

Ako was, originally, the one who encouraged (or even somewhat forced, in her own words) Sakura and Izumi to audition and become idols. She admits at the beginning it was only about making money for her and her friends, and that it was probably fair she was originally rejected. Over time, she's come to realize that- while she still enjoys thinking about money- there are more important things in the world, and that being an idol, and in particular being an idol with her best friends, is something special than money can't buy. While she does enjoy the payments she gets from being an idol, Ako wants to find something even more important with her friends.

Ako is from Shizuoka, but she speaks in a Kansai dialect often because her parents are actually from that area of Japan. She seems to be somewhat self-conscious about her accent as it can give her some trouble with things like intonation and worried it might affect her singing. It is later elaborated on that Ako only lives with her mother now, and it's implied her father has passed away- she says she doesn't have many memories of him.

Ako is a distinct, somewhat eccentric, but loyal personality. It seems like she sometimes doesn't always think through what she says, as her audition shows. Whenever she's got a wad of cash or some nice jewelry she gets very wrapped up at the moment and gets very excited. This excitement is often accompanied by a bold laugh of "Fuhihi!". She's very attached to Sakura and Izumi; one of her ways of relieving anxiety is stroking Sakura's head (or counting money) and she admits she is likely the most easily lonely out of the three of them. While she’s excitable, she's not careless and is very hardworking when it comes to being an idol, always putting in as much effort as she can, keeping the promise she originally made to the Producer. While she struggles in areas like acting, she’s good at other things like planning.

In the tie in the Cinderella Girls Theater skits, Ako is a friendly girl who loves money and jewelry. Most of her idol adventures include her looking for prices or wondering about financial gain. She is closer to Sakura, due to their childlike behavior. She doesn't seem to have much faith in her luck and is very surprised when she wins a lottery prize of getting to go on a date with the Producer over a high-class barbecue. When her two friends try to convince her of what parts of her character to flesh out when going solo, she realizes that she is viewed primarily as loving money. She is happy to learn that her tendency to drop funny lines is noticed and laughs with her friends as Sakura imitates Mirei Hayasaka.

Ako is in an idol unit with Izumi Ohishi and Sakura Muramatsu called New Wave. They go to the same school and are canonically friends with each other.
Whenever she sees a new costume, she has a habit of wondering how much it cost.
She almost got into virtual currency at one point, but Tsukasa stopped her.
She does not take her glasses off for lives in contrast with other idols in the production, and gets upset whenever the Producer tries to convince her to take them off.
