Asami Imai (今井麻美) is the voice actress for the idol Chihaya Kisaragi.
Asami has also voiced other characters in THE iDOLM@STER series such as:
- Yuu Kisaragi, Chihaya's younger brother in the 2011 anime
Asami also has a solo singing career.
Life and Career
Asami Imai, often called by her nicknames "Mingos", "Asamingos P" or "Asa-chan", was born on May 16th, 1977 in Yamaguchi Prefecture's Tokuyama, where she studied and graduated from Tokuyama High School and Meiji University's Literature department, majoring in Drama and Theatre Arts. She currently lives in Saitama Prefecture's Chichibu. She debuted in 1997 in a drama CD released by Enix (then called Square-Enix) titled Toki no Daichi.
She quit her agency, ARTSVISION, in 2007, and moved onto the agency Kaleidoscope. It's unknown whether or not this had anything to do with the ARTSVISION Scandal[2].
Her hobbies and special talents include forest walking, writing song lyrics and massages[3].

Trivia
- Asami Imai is allergic to mangoes and various crustacea[4].
- Asami Imai has a spot in the top 57 of the most beautiful seiyuus list, featured in the August 2009 volume of Circus Max[5]. The people in the list were chosen by the male readers of the magazine. The exact spot for each seiyuu is unknown.
- Asami Imai has a huge thing for the Pokémon Slowpoke. In an IM@S radio station when the seiyuus were talking about the release of the HeartGold and SoulSilver games, she stated that her favorite Pokémon was Slowpoke, always stealing and finding all the Slowpoke cards she can get as well as collecting all the figures and toys for it.
- Asami Imai is known to be good friends with Yukiyo Fujii, Megumi Tokoro's voice actress.
