Character Description

Aya is a tomboyish girl from Fukuoka. She tends to be a bit aggressive in some areas, but Aya surprisingly gets excited when doing idol work and caring for others. She uses the very uncommon "atai" at first, but eventually changes to the more common and feminine "atashi" after progressing in idol work. Despite her brash attitude, she is actually very caring and affectionate, especially towards Kozue. In fact, this duo is known as Yousei and Onee-san. She also secretly likes collecting figures, letting nobody else but Kozue and fellow figure doll lover Yasuha know her another hobby.

Apart from Red Ballad, Kozue and Yasuha, Aya is also friends with fellow 19 year-old idol Chinami (as the duo Night Diva), another 19 year-old idols Ibuki and Shiho Makihara (as the trio Flamme Rouge), and fellow fighter Manami (as the duo Cheating Ordinary Persons (Japanese: チートな一般人, Chīto na Ippanjin)).

The tie-in Cinderella Girls Theater skits depict her as a sporty and caring idol. In a sports event, Aya, along with Kana Imai and Marina, is witness of Uzuki's "extraordinarily ordinary" quirk, placing third overall. Prior to their live tour in Bali, Aya complained about Ibuki's sunburnt skin that may not look good on her idol attire. Aya has been caught in one of Yuki Himekawa’s baseball antics and playing with Kozue using a fan to distort their voices. When Kozue offered her some animal crackers, she admittedly felt bad for the cracker and didn’t know how to eat it without being brutal. In the end, she only talked with the cracker. Along with Rina Fujimoto, Mahiro and Tomoka Wakabayashi, Aya also saw the Producer go out with Makino for a parfait, which the four idols later followed and brought up to Makino the next day. During a bridal event, Umi suggested that Aya throw the bucket to the attendees (illustrated as the rest of Flamme Rouge). Aya has also been involved in a discussion for Tomo's bridal costume as well. When Koharu practiced with a gymnastic bar, Aya commented about the young idol's difficulty due to lack of a tail in comparison to her pet lizard Hyou-kun. Aya landed the role of the Fist Diva in a tokusatsu-like event starring Sana.

Aya is the youngest Red Ballad member. The unit itself consists of her, Chiaki, Ai Togo, Chinatsu, and Reiko.
Aya shares the same birthday with Ranko and Momoka.
- Coincidentally, she is the only unvoiced one out of all three.
Aya is skilled at arranging hair, as can be seen in one official Starlight Stage's 4th anniversary art depicting her with Kozue where her hair is arranged to look like Kozue's and vice versa, as well as a Cinderella Theater strip where she emulates Fumika Sagisawa's hair during a bath at the onsen.
Aya is one of six Fukuoka idols in Cinderella Girls. The others are Aki (the only voiced Cool idol of the prefecture), Chizuru Matsuo, Yoko Saito, Sora Nonomura, and Suzuho Ueda (the only voiced Passion idol of the prefecture).
According to her 2018 Idol Introduction, the idols she senses a lot of guts from are Hajime Fujiwara, Nene Kurihara, Miku Maekawa, Mayu Sakuma, and Kiyomi Saejima.

Fan Culture

Several fans group Aya with Azuki, Atsumi, Ayame, Miu, and Yao Fueifuei, as they share hair buns. Proposed names include Big Dango Family (Japanese: だんご大家族, Dango Daikazoku), inspired by the ED song from Clannad.
