Character Description

Izumi is a brainy idol whose weapon is information analysis. She is often seen carrying her laptop around. She is a firm and honest student, but when it comes to herself, she makes careless mistakes. Izumi was troubled by her inability to express her feelings and her lack of confidence in her inner self. But through idol activities and lessons, Izumi gradually grows.

Izumi is the Cool representative of the New Wave trio. She is a mature and analytical girl who usually serves to reign in her more excitable friends, Sakura Muramatsu and Ako Tsuchiya, thus keeping things on schedule. The trio is very close, and is almost never seen without the other members. Izumi's idol stage clothes always coordinate with Ako and Sakura's, and her cards are set up to work best with the other New Wave members. She has notably devised what she calls Hell Training Plans for the three to follow, though her more laid-back friends usually manage to talk her out of it.

In the tie-in Cinderella Girls Theater skits, she is shown to be very dedicated to her job as an idol. Izumi seems to be competitive for the Producer’s affection, and wants to better herself in her sense of style. She is friends with Arisu Tachibana and Momoka Sakurai. She likes green fields and flowers, and enjoys relaxing on grassy hills while listening to music. It has gotten the better of her on occasion, making her late for work. She is also shown to be a good Hanetsuki player.

Izumi usually keeps Sakura and Ako under control, although her determination does have her sometimes planning out a scheme for practice. When her two friends try to convince her of what parts of her character to flesh out when going solo, Sakura suggests Izumi’s a “big sister character” due to her older sister mentality and Ako suggests a "cyber character" due to her programming skills. She is quick to disagree, thinking these ideas aren't very helpful.

Izumi's charm stems from her caring nature. She acts as a big sister, often looking out for the other idols. When New Wave went to the U.S., Izumi was in charge of their passports. She said that the other two members were too excited, though she was just as excited about her first time abroad. Izumi is always ready to help not only younger people, but also older people. She will sacrifice her own time to help anyone in need. When Izumi is responding to someone on Derepo, it is likely that she is helping another idol. One time on Derepo, Saori Okuyama posted how Izumi taught her that there are e-books that can be written horizontally, and Izumi replied with how it’s easier to read that way on a smartphone screen. There was a time where Sae Kobayakawa had been so moved by a scene which caused Izumi to mistakenly think she wasn’t feeling well. She quickly offered Sae a mask and some candies. It’s likely that she always has such items in her bag.

Izumi sometimes gets help from the older idols. For example, when she was traveling with Minami Nitta, Izumi wasn’t very familiar with the route, luckily Minami was able to help out even if she was a bit nervous about a couple of the transfers.

Izumi has a younger brother who is in the hospital. Though the details on why he is in the hospital are still unknown. Izumi doesn't talk about her brother much, and when asked about him, she veers off on tangents and doesn't go into details. Though when she does mention him, it's obvious that she cares about him a lot. She will often go visit him. He is a reason why Izumi continues as an idol.

Izumi: Maybe try imagining the looks of the people who would be happy to see you pass. Then, encourage yourself to do this.

Izumi: For a laptop, I think it's good if I could do some programming on it. I guess the focus would be on how powerful it is.
Izumi: Lately, I want to do more involving videos. It is because there are a lot of things that I want to capture. One should also be particular about the CPU and the memory.
Izumi: There are a lot of things that I want. Like I want to check how easy it is to use its keyboard. And if I have a place to put a tower case PC...
Izumi: Oh right, having a cute appearance is nice too. Like if Sakura says that it's cute, then it's good for me too.

All of Izumi's cards, with the exception of her second S Rare card set, were released in sets with Ako Tsuchiya and Sakura Muramatsu. They go to the same school and are canonically friends with each other.
As her hobby is programming, her signature contains "idol++", which is a reference to the programming language C++.
She shares the same birthday with Chinatsu Aikawa, Tomoka Tenkubashi, Koito Fukumaru, and Letora.
She is rumored to have an IQ of over 150.
Since her programs are so good, Ako Tsuchiya wants to turn it into a business.
Sakura Muramatsu and Riamu Yumemi refer to Izumi as "Izumin".

Fan Culture
