Character Description

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Natalia is a young Brazilian girl fascinated by Japanese culture and entertainment. Due to being a foreigner, She speaks Japanese in an awkward, non-fluent manner. Natalia loves dancing, and is especially interested in traditional Arabic dance. She is lively and enthusiastic by default, but is largely naive.

Her favorite foods are sushi and bananas. Although she is fascinated by Japanese culture, she has limited knowledge about Japan and has been trying to learn about the culture through being an idol.

  • Natalia was voiced on September 30th, 2019 through [Midnight Carnival] SR card in the original Mobage game, as a result of placing ninth overall in the 8th Cinderella Girl General Election.
  • One of her lines as a boss opponent in the Voyage of the Black Rose Princess event read, in romaji: "Um por todos..." Japanese players with knowledge of both Portuguese and English would realize it translated into English as "One for all...", i.e. a stealth advertising for the THE iDOLM@STER ONE FOR ALL release around that time.
  • In Starlight Stage, her image stat specialty is Vocal.
  • Natalia's father is the captain of a world-league soccer team in Brazil.
  • In the 5th Cinderella Girls General Election she ranked 8th place in the passion category for preliminaries, and in the next Cinderella Girls General Election, she ranked 7th place in the same category for preliminaries as well.
  • Natalia's shirt in her 9th SR in the Mobage game should actually say "VAMOS DANÇAR" instead of "VAMOS DANCAR". The symbol under the C, called a cedilla, is a symbol used in Portuguese, Catalan and French to give the C an S sound. The phrase means "let's dance".
    • Similarly, Natalia's name may also be spelled as "Natália", which is a more common spelling of the name in Portuguese.
  • Natalia's pose in the unawakened version of Resolute Wish might be a reference to a 1908 Japanese poster inviting the people to immigrate to Brazil. Brazil has the largest Japanese population outside of Japan.
  • Recently, she seems to have become associated with Yuzu Kitami in official media, appearing together in the songs Diamond Attention and Pa-Li-Lo, and also in the MobaMas event "Exciting Desert Island Survival". The likely reason is the Brazilian ancestry of Yuzu's voice actress.
  • She shares the same birthday with Misaki Aoba.

Fan Culture

  • Her fans seem to have nicknamed her Natarou, after the character Sekiutsu "Maria" Tarou from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, nicknamed "Matarou" by Kafuka Fuura.
  • Due to them both being Brazilian and associated with Carnival and Soccer, Natalia and Elena Shimabara are commonly depicted together.
  • Although Sol Qamal is formed only by Natalia and Layla, it has an unofficial "sister" unit which also includes Fueifuei, called Xing Sol Qamal.
    • While there's no official unit with the three of them, they're constantly shown together in the official 4koma.
  • She became associated with the character Snake from Metal Gear series after Snake's original English voice actor, David Hayter, made a video in-character as Solid Snake inviting fans to vote for her in the 2019 elections, apparently at the request and payment of a fan, through a celebrity personalized message website; Cameo. This originated a flood of fanarts depicting Natalia with or cosplaying as Snake, specifically Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3 (despite that not being the same Snake). This also led to David Hayter becoming known in Japan and to Snake's Japanese voice actor, Akio Ōtsuka, also being associated with Natalia.
    • Also, there are also two other videos in-characters that was done by Paul Eiding (the original English voice actor of Colonel Roy Campbell) and Christopher Randolph (the original English voice actor of Dr. Hal Emmerich) for the same reason.
    • This was eventually officially acknowledged with Natalia's [Midnight Carnival] SR card, as one of her lines said "ｼﾞｬｼﾞｬｰﾝ!待たせたﾅ､ﾌﾟﾛﾃﾞｭｰｻｰ!" which translates to "Tada! Kept you waiting huh, producer!"; referencing one of Solid Snake's most iconic phrases.
  • Taku Inoue, a long-time composer, lyricist, and arranger for the iDOLM@STER series is a NataliaP and became her fan after taking a Portuguese language lesson in college. Composing many songs, it was always his dream to compose a song for Natalia. In 2022, three years after Natalia was voiced, Inoue's dream came true through THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA MASTER 063 Natalia where he wrote her first image song Sou O Sol.
