THE iDOLM@STER Gravure For You! (Japanese: アイドルマスター グラビアフォーユー! Aidorumasutaa Gurabia Foo Yuu!) is a sub-series of games in the Second Vision continuity. In the games, the player can take pictures of idols wearing different outfits while posed. The original release of the game totaled 9 individual volumes released in bundles with episodes of THE iDOLM@STER anime, containing the idols from 765 Production and guest idols from 876 Production. Another set of nine volumes were released for characters from THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls.

THE iDOLM@STER Gravure For You!

When the series was originally released, volumes were bundled with episodes of THE iDOLM@STER anime and PERFECT IDOL CDs. The player can take pictures of one of the thirteen idols from 765 Production in various poses and costumes on different sets. In addition, volumes 7, 8, and 9 have Ai Hidaka, Eri Mizutani, and Ryo Akizuki, respectively, who are included for players to take pictures of. In every volume, a "Meet Your Idol" option allows for a short dialogue with the idol depicted on the cover of the volume. All idols, including the three special idols, have a specific pose only they can do, and certain costumes can either limit movement or have different pose sets. All of the idol specific mixes were produced by Akitaka Tohyama.

On October 2, 2013, the series was re-released on the PS3 for iM@S CHANNEL. Volume 1 has a cost of 300 yen, and all other volumes are priced at 1,500 yen. Pictures can be saved into a gallery. Certain features were added to these volumes to make the photos more customizable including:

  • Camera Tilt via controller motion sensor tilt
  • The ability to add a black frame around the photos
  • Different photo sizes
  • The ability to display a guide grid
  • A vignetting effect
  • A button to change BGM playlists
  • 150% angle swing of the camera
  • An option to hide the menu

A number of sets from Gravure For You! were used in other games. The "Seaside" sets used in Volumes 1, 4, 6, and 8 were later reused as the "Tropical on the Beach" stage for THE iDOLM@STER ONE FOR ALL, while the "Seaside" sets used in Volumes 3 and 9 were slightly edited versions of THE iDOLM@STER 2's "Beach Live" stage, and the "Live House" stage was a direct copy of the version from the same game. The "Classroom", "Winter Street Corner", "House Studio", "Studio Set", "Church", and "Fireworks" sets would all also appear in SHINY FESTA and Shiny TV. Despite being named differently, there is no difference between the "Horizontal Line and Sand" and "Horizontal Line and Sailors" sets.

Gravure For You! shares most of the UI/UX elements with THE iDOLM@STER 2.

Game Data
Release Date: October 27, 2011
Re-Release Date: October 2, 2013

The first volume in THE iDOLM@STER Gravure For You! series introduced the idea of taking snapshots of the idols with backgrounds, costumes, and poses. Many songs from both the original games and the 2nd Vision series appeared in this game, including an original remix that was created for this game, "Haruka RedMIX". This tradition was used in later volumes as well.

For the IM@S CHANNEL release, this volume would later be sold at 300 yen for the full content.

Trial Edition

For the IM@S CHANNEL re-release of the Gravure For You! series, Volume 1 received a Trial Edition which players could download onto the iM@S CHANNEL. Being a free trial of that volume, the Trial Edition has significant differences from the full version of this game, which are explained as follows.

  • Saving pictures is disabled.
  • The player can only select Haruka Amami. Attempting to select other idols will display a message stating that they cannot be selected.
  • In the confirmation dialog that appears upon selecting Haruka, there is additional text stating that saving pictures is not available.
  • Pressing R1 will play the shutter animation, but will not save pictures or display a preview of the picture that was taken.
