THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls Self-Introduction
Tsubaki is a dignified and refined character who enjoys taking photos of everyday life. She tends to be very whimsical, and believes in fortune telling. Most of her idol outfits are kimono-inspired. When in her casual clothes, her hair is usually loose, while in idol form she usually ties her hair (with the exception of her fifth Rare card), a subversion of Umi Sugisaka who ties her hair when in casual clothes but sets it loose when in idol form.
Tsubaki is scouted while observing a photoshoot. She asks to watch and get closer, wanting to use the opportunity to observe a professional. She’s invited to model in front of the camera, and after a bit of convincing she agrees. Tsubaki is impressed by the photos, feeling moved by the skill of the cameraman. She’s told that her appearance and presence in the picture is what makes it really moving. Tsubaki takes her photos home, and returns to the producer a few days later, deciding to be an idol.
She has a bit of trouble acting natural in front of the camera at first, and prefers taking pictures of others. Tsubaki realizes that her mood and personal enjoyment of her idol work make photos of her turn out much better.
In the tie-in Cinderella Girls Theater skits, Tsubaki’s photography skills are played up considerably. Tsubaki is rather laid back, and her advice for other idols tends to reflect this. Her camera skills show that while she can take very amazing and memorable photos, she also can capture some rather scandalous images too. Her philosophy for picture taking is that taking a relaxed approach allows for more interesting pictures. Tsubaki has been asked to work for Makino Yagami and Reina Koseki, but she teasingly states that her work is for her personal usage. She also likes the fortune aspect of visiting shrines on New Years.

Tsubaki: Hello, I am Egami Tsubaki. And today, I will be answering the questions you sent in.
Question: What should I bear in mind when taking pictures?
Question: There really is a difference between taking pictures of people, sceneries and food, isn't it?
Tsubaki: It's not intentional but... I try to take pictures which conveys things like the feelings of the subject or the time the picture was taken. #DereMail
Tsubaki: Skills do play an important part, but the most significant thing would be how you approach it, I guess. Oh, but this is just my own thinking, okay?
Question: Have you used words that you thought to be standard Japanese but was actually a local dialect?
Tsubaki: Something like "あいよー <aiyo>" perhaps. It means "はーい <hai (yes)", so it's not that different to the standard Japanese. #DereMail
Tsubaki: When I was just starting out as an idol, I was using it normally and ended up surprising those around me... It's an old but fond memory.
Question: For mochi, do you prefer sato shoyu? Or kinako?
Tsubaki: Both of them are recommended by many people. I love both sato shoyu and kinako. Both of them go well with the cooked mochi. #DereMail
Tsubaki: Also, in my hometown of Niigata, mochi is boiled in the end. Perhaps it's that soup taste that seems nostalgic for me?
Tsubaki: That would be all for today. Thank you for all those questions. We will be answering some more in the future.
